Howdy SRCs,

If you were not out on two wheels Saturday you were in the
minority.
The day started out from IHOP in Folsom with seven riders, no
clouds and cool temperatures.
As we rode out of town none of us realized just how crowded the
roads would be with motorcycles. Our first stop was Pleasant
Valley along hwy12 as we stayed off hwy49 for the ride out to Jamestown.
Along the way we came across a Cushman Scooter meet. For the most
part they were just "firing them up". You could hear the
putt-putt of the single cylinder engines. Those on the little
brothers to our big bikes waved.
While at our stop not one or two but three different groups of
riders on motorcycles rode through town.
After our stop we rode out south east-across to hwy4. It was
along this stretch that we found the road in dis-repair. Let me
try to explain, there were pot-holes big enough to swallow a bike.
Fortunately, all of
those we ran across on the side of the road were near the
shoulder, however the lane going the opposite direction was littered
with these suspension killers.
As we pulled out onto hwy4 we found ourselves between two more
groups of bikers. One in front and one behind. The
"extended group" rode together until the turn off to
Copperopolis and Lake Tulloch.
Again we found bikes everywhere as we rode over to hwy 120/108 and
our final destination Jamestown. Now Jamestown was a different
story being almost deserted. We later found out that there was a
rodeo in Sonora. We ate at a little Mexican restaurant which served up
some great food.
I decided to ride a different route home to avoid that one road
with all the holes in it, so we cut across over to hwy49 and then to
hwy12 to Pleasant Valley where we made our final stop. As we
talked of the ride
more bikes rode past us and a few stopped, keeping the same theme
as we had seen all day.
What a geat day for a ride...
