RIDE REPORT:

Howdy SRCs,

Even though the rainy weather held off on Sunday, Saturday turned out to be just about a perfect day for a ride.

Eight bikes with a good mix of single and two up riders made our way from Sacramento to Napa Valley.  There were a lot of new faces and we (SRCs) tried to make them all feel welcome.  I did get a note from one new rider that said "we made her feel as if she had been riding with us for years"  Riding with friends having a great time is what our club is all about.

I did have to warn the group as I had never rode this route before, so be prepared to turn around.  However, with my written directions and with a little help from my co-pilot (Gundi) we made it without getting lost.

We left from Lyons Restaurant around 9am and stopped for lunch right at noon, now how's that for planning...

Of course we rode the back roads staying of the major hwys for most of the ride.  Along the way a particularly strong odor filled the air.  It only took us a couple of turns to catch up to not one, but two horse trailers and boy they must have had something spicy for breakfast...  Fortunately the drivers were kind enough to pull over and let us pass.

We ate lunch at a little place in Calistoga, that served up great tri-tip sandwich.  I was warned about the "hot" sauce, but could not resist trying it.  I do have to say it was good and spicy.  (now I know where those horses ate)  Ha  Ha

For the ride home Sparky lead us along a different route that had us riding along Lake Berryessa.

The pictures are from our first stop, second stop and lunch...

As you all are a were, just because you own a motorcycle it doesn't mean that you have any brains...  I'm referring to the future organ donors that choose to ride in a way that is not safe.  While on our way back this idiot on a BMW chose to pass our group by splitting and weaving though us instead of going around.  Please be careful out there!

Even still we had a great ride and good times with friends...

Another great day of riding for the SRCs,,,

John
